Herwan has more than 29 years combined experience in finance, corporate governance, business development and strategy.
He is currently an independent commissioner and committee member in various publicly listed companies. He has been serving as an independent commissioner since 2016 and independent audit and risk oversight committee member since 2013 in information & communication technology, financial services, mining, manufacturing, shipping & logistics, and aviation & tourism sectors, owned and controlled by multinational corporations, private equities, venture capitals, local conglomerates and state-owned enterprise.
He served as a Managing Director at AWR Lloyd from 2019 to 2020, a boutique strategy consulting and M&A advisory firm from Thailand. Prior to that, he spent 14 years as Finance Director and CFO at Rio Tinto Indonesia, a country office established to represent and manage mining assets of Rio Tinto, the second largest mining company in the world by market capitalisation. Before Rio Tinto, he was an auditor at PwC, a Big Four accounting firm, in Indonesia and Netherlands from 1995 to 2005.
He holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from Tarumanagara University and a master’s degree in business administration from Edinburgh Business School, Heriot Watt University. He has also completed professional qualifications and certification programs in accounting, auditing, treasury, project management and risk management.
